Tyler Street Food Giveaway

Trinity Basin Preparatory is excited to share the success of a generous community effort that helped support our families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. What began as the vision of Karlandrea Bennett, owner of Freshque Meals, grew into a powerful partnership among Freshque, the nonprofit Mesmerize, Aldi, Credit Union of Texas, and Williams Chicken—all joining together to provide families with both a hot meal and groceries for their Thanksgiving celebration.

This year’s Thanksgiving Kindness Event, held on November 22nd at Tyler Street, brought together families from both the Tyler Street and Jefferson campuses and showcased remarkable community support:

  • Credit Union of Texas sponsored its food truck, serving 300 burgers, chips, and drinks to families.
  • Mesmerize generously donated items to create 50–75 Thanksgiving food bags.
  • A local DJ volunteered his services, bringing music and energy to the event.
  • The Shirley Charles Foundation contributed 4–5 pallets of student snack boxes, with each box filled with 25–30 snack items.

Parents say they were very thankful for the generosity of the schools and community.

“I’m deeply grateful for the Thanksgiving food giveaway,” said parent, Natalie Lopez. “Your generosity brought comfort and joy to my family, and we appreciate it more than words can say.”

“Thank you so much for the Thanksgiving food giveaway," said parent, Crystal Houston.

"Everyone was incredibly kind, and I especially want to thank Ms. Karlandrea for being so sweet and helpful to everyone. It really made our holiday special.”

Thanks to these dedicated partners and the vision behind this initiative, many families were able to head into the holiday with full hearts and full pantries. We are grateful for the kindness, collaboration, and community spirit that made this event a meaningful success.
