Tyler Street Educators Promote Movement and Wellness Through Professional Training

Trinity Basin Preparatory Tyler Street Campus educators spent Professional Development Day learning new ways to make physical education engaging, educational and accessible for students.

Staff participated in Quaver P.E. training, which introduced teachers to digital resources designed to support health and physical education instruction. The program includes interactive lessons, videos, activities and assessments that can help students develop movement skills, understand wellness concepts and establish healthy habits.

Educators also participated in CATCH training. CATCH, which stands for Coordinated Approach to Child Health, helps schools support whole-child wellness through physical activity, health education and positive school environments.

During the training, educators explored strategies for keeping students active, making physical activities inclusive and enjoyable, teaching health and nutrition concepts and reinforcing healthy choices throughout the school day. Staff also learned how CATCH resources can be incorporated into lessons and campus practices.

These professional learning opportunities provided Tyler Street educators with additional tools to create meaningful experiences that support students’ physical, academic and social development. By investing in teacher growth, the campus continues working to help every Titan build healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
